Whats it all about...

You’ve been tying regularly and are starting to feel more confident in your rope skills… What's next? How do you move from tying the rope to tying the person? Through a series of exercises, we’ll explore inspired by elements commonly used in Ipponnawa: A way to play and tie freely with just one rope and no fixed pattern. This allows us to fluidly tie & untie, creating space to flow and experience our emotions, bodies, and connection through the rope. You will need a tying partner to participate in the hands-on exercise. The Rigger should be familiar with column ties, common friction, and able to manage & tie with various tension. Both the Rigger and the bottom must have a solid understanding of safety and risk management in rope bondage, including but not limited to hand-checking, recognizing signs of nerve compression, aware of their own skill/body limits etc.
