"A few summers back _Redwood left Ramblewood Camp feeling like they were onto something. As they were driving home through the windy roads of rural Maryland, a small part of them believed the fantasy they played out one afternoon in the woods actually, well.. happened. They’d been so immersed in a scene as to be left with the memory of it in their bones. Like method acting, method BDSM centers around the idea of, in a way, becoming the character you’re playing: to feel what they feel and to experience the world through their eyes by conjuring emotional memory or pulling from your own life experiences to embody the character. Combining elements of role play, ordeal, and ritual, method BDSM becomes more than the sum of its parts. Some examples of themes are: Two Eves Creating An Adam From Nothing, Human Sacrifice, Being Beaten Alive, Becoming The Ocean, Being A Musical Instrument, etc. We’ll also learn about interesting ways to engage with traditional kink - things like pretending rope is a snake and a person is a tree, and the snake crawls itself around the tree and into a harness (as snakes do.. lol!) and then gives its life to the tree, and the tree slowly becomes human, and then we do “human” things together. Or like “painting” bruises on each other by doing intentional impact play on skin to create different patterns and shapes - a temporary bruise tattoo, so to speak. Attendees will get to hear Redwood tell their own story of transformation through immersive play, see a live demo, learn how to prepare for this type of play, take away a list of theme and narrative ideas, and have the chance to practice immersing themselves in a scene and remembering their fantasies in their bones."
